Virtual Testing at Tri State Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts

Tri State Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts has gone virtual. Since the mandated shut down that began on March 17, 2020, Tri State Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts immediately began running off a modified virtual schedule. Students have the opportunity to train live where they can participate, ask questions, and instructors can see you and give feedback (all from your living room). In addition, all the classes are recorded and available to students.

Tri State Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts has found a solution to every problem to best serve their students. When quarterly children’s belt promotion graduation was forced to be canceled, Tri State offered COVID-19 CDC complaint pick up’s which allowed parents and students to pick up their new martial arts belts. In addition, instructors including owner and operator, Jeff Jones delivered dozens of belts to students homes all across the Lower Bucks county area.

Tri State offered a virtual opportunity for their Adult Fundamentals class, where students who were eligible for promotion were able to test on the zoom platform.

As of most recent, Tri State Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Art’s Children’s program was due for stripe testing, the first testing opportunity since receiving their new belts.  Instructors connect with the students 1:1 during their allotted testing time for this unique opportunity.

“Thanks for working out the virtual testing. Desmond running out of his room to tell his dad and little brother about his green stripe just made everyone’s day here… Thank you for that.” one parent exclaimed.

Although the majority of stripe testing was executed last week, some testing still continues into this week.

“Our goal is to keep all of our students on track, not only with their martial arts training, but in life. This is a time where it’s very easy to fall into unfavorable habits. We strive to keep our students and their habits positive,” owner Jeff Jones states.

If you think Martial Arts could be beneficial to you, Tri State is offering TWO FREE WEEKS of virtual classes. Click here for more information.

Tri State Children’s Jiu Jitsu takes on Grappling Tournament

Children’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Grappling Tournament

Tri State Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts recently had nine students compete in the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) Tournament on January 25, 2020 in Broomall, Pennsylvania at the Marple Sports Arena .

This event is annually Pennsylvania’s largest children’s grappling tournament state wide.

Our partcipating Tri State students, in addition to their regular Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes, attend a children’s competition class on Saturday mornings. For many, it was their first time competing in a grappling tournament. Our competitors earned seven first place wins in addition to multiple second places standings.

Participants include: Ryan Stadler, Kristian Warywoda, Isabella Rapciewicz, Collin Cianci, Takeo Dawson, Aidan Goodman, Elliot Fields, Ethan Ayala, and Alex Fields.

We are so proud of all our students who competed.

Both our children’s and adult’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes are affiliated with the world re-owned G-13 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program, founded by Master Roberto Godoi.

The courage and confidence in our students is astonishing. We look forward to more competitions and watching our students grow in both our Mixed Martial Arts programs as well as our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program.

A Black Belt is a White Belt that never quits!

MMA: Traditional Martial Arts with a New World Approach

Like so many treasured art forms that have developed over the centuries, the martial arts have survived, evolved, and grown in value and popularity. In today”â„¢s world, an individual has the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of martial art styles to study and practice. The rise of MMA competitions have also inspired many people to view martial arts like never before: as thrilling spectator sports on par with boxing and other big events. This was not always the case. In the past, most martial arts were primarily centered on self-defense and self-improvement by advancing athleticism and skills through practicing forms, customs, and traditions. The martial arts were viewed as a social activity and cultural art form. It was a way of living rather than a means to become physically fit or protect oneself. While the history of martial arts is certainly fascinating, some would argue that martial arts had to develop a commercial sports industry simply to remain solvent and relevant to the world today.

Traditional approach

Before one can begin to understand how martial arts were viewed through many centuries of study, it is important to understand the value of tradition. Traditions are cultural practices that are taught from generation to generation to instill particular values that relate to a society or a community. Regardless whether one honors cultural traditions, it is certainly a must to respect others who do. The martial arts became a way for the qualities of tradition could be passed on from one generation to the next.

New world approach

Traditional martial arts were not particularly concerned with improvement of the body and the mind. New world martial arts is designed to help individuals in a far more practical way than traditional martial arts. Through constant practice and dedication, students learn to exercise great control over their bodies through rigorous training of practical techniques. In doing so, they will build their bodies to become stronger, faster, and healthier. This is achieved by blending the best and most effective aspects of different martial arts styles into a single set of techniques and combos proven to win fights. Certain styles may focus on speed and focus, while others are more concerned with power. Mixed martial arts combines the finest aspects of all kinds of martial arts practiced across the world, across the centuries, to create today”â„¢s toughest warriors.
